April 29, 2025 – Winnipeg, MB – Today, Pulse Canada issued the following statement on behalf of Chair Terry Youzwa regarding the conclusion of the 45^th Canadian federal election:

“Pulse Canada congratulates Prime Minister Mark Carney on his election victory and acknowledges the efforts of all those who put their names forward for elected office.

“As the Prime Minister knows, Canada’s pulse industry plays a vital role in the country’s economic growth, supporting tens of thousands of jobs and generating billions of dollars in trade.

“The pulse sector faces several pressing challenges that require immediate attention—chief among them, the resolution of China’s tariffs on Canadian peas, which continue to affect growers and exporters across the country. We are committed to working constructively with the federal cabinet and Members of Parliament from all parties to strengthen Canada’s position as a global leader in agriculture.

“As we navigate an evolving landscape, there is a growing consensus that Canada must ‘get out of its own way’ and create a legislative and regulatory environment that fosters investment, innovation, and growth.
